Naptime Inspirations is always on the search for the coolest vintage quilt tops to repurpose into pillow covers! What began as an unfinished project years ago is given new life as a pillow cover!
Customers frequently ask…
“Are the covers removable?” Yes! The pillow cover will either have an invisible zipper closure or an overlapping envelope design on the back of the pillow. They are removable and, in most cases, washable. If spot clean is recommended, that will be noted in the description.
“Do they come with an insert?” Very soon, Yes! Currently you can purchase the cover and insert separately. Please be patient as we make adjustments to improve your shopping experience! (Per the distributor) The pillow inserts are filled with responsibly sourced feathers (commonly known as 5/95 in the marketplace). The pillows are oversized and filled to perfection.
“Are the covers durable?” Yes! If the vintage textiles are too fragile to withstand moderate use, they will not be included. Thinner fabrics are reinforced with interfacing for strength and durability. Keep in mind that some designs feature looser stitching (embroidery or crochet) that can be snagged. These are not the pillows to be used in your family pillow fights!
“Are they…fresh??” Yes! Sadly, some of the loveliest vintage textiles smell of moth balls. That’s a hard pass! If a textile can’t be freshened, it won’t be used in Naptime Inspirations’ designs. All vintage textiles go through a thorough cleaning process that removes stains and restores the original brightness. Naptime Inspirations’ studio is smoke free and pet free.
“Do you accept custom orders?” Absolutely! We are thrilled by custom orders! If you have a piece of fabric or textile that is special to you, we’ll work with you to incorporate it into a one-of-a-kind design. Details on custom orders can be found here.
Evoke memories of Grandmas’s farmhouse kitchen with this colorful pillow. The two side panels are cut from vintage, weathered kitchen towels. The center panel is from a hand-embroidered pillowcase.

A long time ago, a lovely woman sent to me a box of weavings. When she was a young girl her parents owned a weaving business which featured traditional Scandinavian technique. This pillow highlights one of those old weavings. It is set off by the pure black linen on the front and the back.

Inspiration
My Grandmother was a prolific maker of crocheted doilies! She gave them to family members for Christmas and I was lucky to amass quite a collection from her. My decor doesn’t lend itself to doilies and dresser scarves, but I wanted a way to display my Grandma’s handiwork. I experimented with ways to sew the doilies onto pillow covers and even a set of Christmas stockings for everyone in my family. It gives me such joy to showcase these gifts from Grandma’s heart! I’ve made many custom order pillows using the customer’s crocheted doilies and they in turn share them with family members. It’s such a special, thoughtful gift!

Customization
Naptime Inspirations can use YOUR sentimental textiles in any of the customizable designs! The first step in the process is to reach out with your idea here. When you are contacted, we will discuss what you’re looking for and come up with a plan. There is a consultation fee for this process and that fee applies for up to 5 items. Each item is purchased separately. When necessary, your item will be cleaned and prepared so that it looks its best in the finished product.
Quilt pieces, embroidered linens, vintage fabrics, a piece of a shirt or apron, even baby bedding can be incorporated into baby bibs, pillow, or zipper pouches.
Custom made pieces make the most special gifts for christenings, weddings, baby showers, Mother’s Day, and Christmas!
